Hello everybody, it's time to culmsolidate (= edit, delete, reorganize and merge) threads that we have written on the subject of bending bamboo.
We now have a new forum, below `Bamboo Tools and Techniques' called `Bending Bamboo'.
Threads and posts about bending bamboo that were in the general discussion Forum, `Working with Bamboo' have been moved to this Forum.
This forum is for addressing all aspects about bending and shaping bamboo.
Here we can discuss, experiment with, gather info, and provide reference to applications where the bending of bamboo is employed.
Some of what we discuss here may evolve into becoming distinct forums of their own.
Some examples may be... basketry and weaving, kite making, furniture, lamps and interior fixtures, buildings and structural fabrications, garden and landscape elements, musical instruments, fishing poles, kinetic and decorative sculptures and so forth, ad infinitum, all of which the bending of bamboo may be a small or large part of the subject.
We now also have a distinct category in the Bamboo Workshop Gallery (http://www.bamboocraft.net/workshop) called.. Bending and Shaping Bamboo (http://www.bamboocraft.net/workshop/showgallery.php?cat=508)
(Recently opened and still `UNDER CULMSTRUCTION')
So, this forum should make it easier for us to see what we have, so far about bending and shaping bamboo and also where we have yet to go.
There are plenty of questions. Now we need more answers and experiences.
If you are involved with bending bamboo, and would like to contribute to this subject it's good to start a New Thread. Pictures can be uploaded into the message. They will later be filed in your gallery.
